Congratulations, you have chosen to participate in Pete Isaia’s Break Through program. Whilst most people find this course to be a positive and transformational experience, the course is not suitable for everyone. By signing this document, you undertake to adhere to the following agreements:
Personal Wellbeing:
We consider your safety and wellbeing to be a high priority. This information is provided to help you decide whether this course is suitable for you.
The recommendations in this notice have been made in conjunction with mental health professionals who advise Pete Isaia. We will assume from your participation in the course and from your consent to participate that you have a full understanding of all the information that follows and that you understand our instructions and will comply with our recommendations.
It is solely your responsibility whether you choose to participate in any of our programs. You are also responsible for your own health and well-being during, and after your participation. If you are unsure if you should participate or not, you should consult a mental health professional for advice.
The courses are educational in their format and include instruction and coaching designed to support you in realising your personal life goals. Through a series of journaling prompts and exercises, you will undertake a robust and voluntary self-examination of your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours and how these contribute to your experience of life.
Our courses provide an opportunity to examine unexplored and other hidden aspects of yourself that are valuable to discover. You will likely expand your level of self-awareness and in doing so create new and exciting possibilities for yourself and your life.
Your experience in the course will be unique to you, and there is no way to predict how your thoughts and feelings may be affected. You may experience unwanted or uncomfortable emotions during the course, including sadness, remorse, anger, agitation, confusion, etc.
Uncovering parts of ourselves that we have ignored whilst valuable can also cause upset or discomfort. For others, participation in the course may be associated with physical, mental, or emotional distress.
The mental health professionals who advise Pete Isaia STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you do not participate in the course if you have doubts about your ability to comfortably manage challenging experiences or confronting unowned parts of yourself, or to witness these experiences in other participants
Health Considerations:
If you or anyone in your immediate family have a strong history of mental illness or psychological problems, our advisers STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you do not participate in our courses. If you are uncertain about whether this applies to you, we advise you to discuss this with a mental health professional before participating in any of our courses.
YOU SHOULD NOT PARTICIPATE in our courses if you:
Have a personal or family history of bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, acute or chronic depression or other psychotic disorder, whether or not you have ever been treated or hospitalised;
Have been formerly diagnosed with a personality disorder.
Within the previous twelve months have taken anti-anxiety drugs, antidepressants, anti-psychotics; any medication to treat bipolar disorders, any drugs or medicines, whether prescription or non-prescription, intended to treat mood disorders or to treat a chemical imbalance.
Have an unresolved history of drug or steroid abuse.
Are or have in the past year been depressed and/or considered or had ideas of suicide, self-harm or harm to another.
Are currently in therapy, and your therapist sees a health reason why you should not participate in the course.
Our courses are designed for people who clearly understand they are responsible for their own health and well-being before, during, and after the course. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychotherapy, or counselling. The course leader is not acting in the role of mental health professional, but rather uses a coaching approach in assisting you to achieve your goals.
If you experience any mental or emotional distress during the course or shortly after, you must immediately inform your course leader. In such an event, you and the coach will discuss the matter and you will determine what is the appropriate course of action. If you experience emotional or mental distress outside of the course, we strongly recommend that you immediately inform a physician or mental health professional.
You are, of course, free to leave our courses at any time. If you choose to discontinue your participation in a course, we highly recommend that you inform your coach immediately. You will be offered an exit interview to ensure your opportunity to discuss any matters of concern.
